Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel

Check out the cool Beach Club at Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel, Sydney. Recently refurbished, I'm loving the fresh and retro aqua colour they've used throughout as well as the overall super relaxed vibe. Getting in the mood for summer!

Ruyi beautifully designed Restaurant Melbourne, Australia

Ruyi beautifully designed Restaurant Melbourne, Australia

Check out this new restaurant - it is called Ruyi, a dumpling and wine bar that has recently opened their doors in Melbourne, Australia.

Ruyi means 'as you wish' and was beautifully designed by the clever Hecker Guthrie, a Melbourne design firm that turns everything they touch into design gold.

I really like their approach here of simplicity and earthiness to their design - they mentioned that dumplings themselves are simple fare so the fit-out compliments this well.

While this is a new and modern fit out, I can't help but be reminded of details from my childhood (I was a child of the 70's) - like the pottery, the tiles and other details - is that the same for you? I think these details work beautifully with the light coloured timber and modern details.

22 Inspirational Restaurant Interior Designs

Perhaps there is nothing more therapeutic than a fine dining experience. Culinary sophistication and high standards make for a memorable time for anyone in a restaurant. But we design freaks seek more and often end up lusting over great interiors at places like these. Right now we are admiring some fascinating restaurant designs photographed by a Russian firm IndoorPhotos. Seems like a lot of time and money has gone into making these spaces perfect for food and conversations. Not only do they manage to lure a large number of food junkies, their interiors serve as good inspiration for home dining spaces too.

Matsumoto Restaurant by Golucci International Design

Golucci International Design have designed the Matsumoto Restaurant in Beijing, China.
Description from the designer
Matsumoto Restaurant is a Japanese food chain store brand in China. This time, they invited the famous Taiwan designer Lee Hsuhang to conduct the design. Feeling people’s desperate pursuit of fame and benefits in large cities like Beijing and Shanghai, the designer realizes the great importance to bring people back to simplicity and the true themselves, so the interesting concept “pray for blessings” comes out.
Lee Hsuheng uses Japanese Taiko, Clifford board, family totem and sumo-culture elements to decorate the Restaurant. Inside, the lights create a sense of magnificence and fashion. Outside, the exterior wall, decorated by multi-layer timber Japanese Clifford boards, does not only provide a fantastic visual experience, but also presents to customers a unique space in the Restaurant to pray for blessings. The customers can write their wishes to future in the boards, which both brings the customers an expectation of realizing their wishes, and also it becomes an engagement between Matsumoto Restaurant and customers.

The designer embodies the miniature of China’s harmonious society with the project. The unique design shall also produce more established customers to the Restaurant, which well expresses the designer’s belief good design shall show its own commercial value.
